Hello!
Congratulations on taking the first step to regaining your sexual confidence. This video will guide you through the steps to administer your Trimix injection.
Preparation for your injection
Gather the materials you will need (Trimix vial, alcohol swabs, & syringes)
Place them on a table near the chair or bed where you will be sitting down for the injection.
Wash your hands with soap and water. Make sure they are thoroughly dry.
Remove the cap from the vial. Using an alcohol swab, clean the top of the Trimix vial
Allow it to air dry prior to inserting the needle.
Prepare the injection site by wiping the area with an alcohol swab.
Hold the syringe horizontally.
Pull the needle cover straight off and place it on the table.
Remove the cap & draw up an amount of air into the syringe equal to the amount of medication you’ll be drawing up.
Insert the needle straight down into the rubber stopper of the vial and push in the air.
With the needle still inserted turn the vial and syringe upside down.
Draw up the recommended dosage into the syringe.
Tap the syringe gently and push the plunger to remove any air bubbles.
The injection.
Sit upright or slightly reclined when performing the injection.
Hold the head of your penis.
Stretch it lengthwise so that you can clearly see the injection site.
Inject the Trimix into the corpora cavernosa – the spongy tissue on the side of the penis and apply pressure for 1 to 2 minutes
Be sure to avoid all visible blood vessels while injecting.
Place the used syringe in a sharps container for disposal.
Do not reuse the same syringe.
After administering an injection, Trimix should begin to work within 5 to 20 minutes and its effects should last about 1 hour.
Increasing your dose too quickly or taking more than prescribed may result in a condition called priapism which is an erection lasting 4 or more hours, this is a medical emergency and you should seek medical attention immediately
Here are some important precautions to remember:
• Wait a minimum of 24 hours between injections.
• Do not use Trimix more than three times per week.
• Store your mixed Trimix in the refrigerator.
• Be sure to check the pharmacy packaging to know when it expires and discuss the shelf life of your medication with your Scott’s Pharmacy Pharmacist
Storing your mixed tri-mix in the freezer can extend the shelf life of your medication, however if you store this medication in the freezer you will need to take the vial out of the freezer and let it thaw completely at room temperature on the counter prior to use.
Do not apply any external heat source to your medication vial such as putting it in the microwave, warming in hot water, etc.
Do not use it until there is no visible ice in the vial.
If you have any questions or concerns with your Trimix protocol you should contact your physician or Scott’s Pharmacy.
